Motorcyclists 'Ride to Live'

Prepare for hazards

October 28th, 2014

Transport for NSW’s new motorcycle safety campaign ‘Ride to Live’ has launched to help motorcycle riders and drivers better identify and manage the issues which put motorcycle riders at risk.

Last year almost 2,700 motorcyclists were killed or injured on our roads. This means that currently on average more than seven motorcyclists are killed or injured every day.

The new ‘Ride to live’ campaign aims to alert motorcycle riders to potential hazards on the road to enable them to better manage their risks on the road. The campaign also provides awareness to drivers of the risks they pose to motorcycle riders and promote safer interactions between drivers and motorcycle riders.

The launch of the campaign coincides with the start of the motorcycle reactional season, with paid media activity commencing from the 2nd of November 2014. The media mix includes television, radio, digital banners and out of home billboards and bus-backs. Further tips and hazard tests have been developed in a dedicated website to help motorcycle riders understand potential hazards and help plan out their rides.
